Jonas "Joker" Berggren

Jonas "Joker" Berggren is a Swedish musician, songwriter, and producer, best known as a founding member of the pop group Ace of Base, formed in 1990. The group, which also included his siblings Malin and Jenny Berggren, and Ulf Ekberg, became prominent in the 1990s, blending Eurodance, reggae, and pop elements. They achieved massive global success with their debut album, "Happy Nation" (1992), which was later re-released as "Happy Nation (1993)" in the U.S. Their hit singles, including "All That She Wants," "The Sign," and "Don't Turn Around," topped charts worldwide and received multiple awards. Berggren's songwriting and production skills were pivotal in crafting Ace of Base's signature sound, characterized by catchy melodies and infectious rhythms. The group's success helped pave the way for other Scandinavian pop acts in the international music scene. Ace of Base's influence can be seen in the continued popularity of pop and dance music with reggae-infused elements. Despite a decline in mainstream visibility, their music remains iconic, and they have sold over 50 million records globally, marking them as one of the best-selling groups of all time.
